Nearly 200 members and guests attended the April 09 Family Service to celebrate the official opening of the new 'Mary Salmond' room and the rest of our church refurbishment. Mrs Ann Anderson, the eldest member of our congregational board and a personal friend of Mary, was delighted to officially open the 'Mary Salmond' room and the rest of the refurbishment. The children (and adults) then went outside to release 140 balloons. Tea, coffee and cakes were served in the Guthrie Hall and everyone had the opportunity to view all the new facilities.
MARY SALMOND

Mary Salmond was a much loved member of our congregation who left a bequest in her will to our church. After much thought and prayer on how to use the money, we sent out a tithe through Mission Africa which was used to build a new clinic in Jos, Nigeria for children with Aids. This was opened in April 2007 and was named
'THE MARY SALMOND Clinic'

Keeping in mind her love of children and her work with the Sunday school, the rest of the money was used to build our new multi-functional room which will now be used for the sunday school and creche as well as many other activities.
